In the classic tradition of a Renaissance still life painting of fruit, this enamel and fused glass picture of a red pear brings the fruit to life with its depth of field, giving the viewer the sense that the three-dimensional pear could be picked up and eaten. The picture measures about 3 and three-quarters inches by 5 and one-quarter inches and is mounted on the frame glass (which now serves as a backboard for the picture) with Velcro.
